Gucci has announced a new capsule collection “Ha Ha Ha”, with Grammy award winning singer and songwriter, Harry Styles, and it's no laughing matter. Styles and Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci since 2015, have a friendly relationship, often seen together at events like the 2019 Met Gala.
According to wwd.com, “The capsule’s name blends Styles and Michele’s first initials and represents the laughing face emoji they have used in conversations with each other for years.”
The highly anticipated collection meshes 70’s influences with Styles’ own personal fashion. Harry is known for his playful outfits, often pairing nontraditional items to create something trendy and outside of the box. One of Harry’s most memorable looks debuted a Gucci blue ruffle tiered dress with lace black trim on the Vogue December 2020 cover. His androgynous style is extremely popular among Gen Z women, a demographic that makes up a significant portion of his fan base.
Following fashion icons like Prince, David Bowie, and Elton John, Styles created a modern space for young people to break fashion norms, and cross lines between gendered dressing. Styles has been described by Michele as “revolutionary” for his gender-fluid wardrobe choices, and “the image of a new era”.
It’s no secret that Styles is a fan of Gucci, he has a long standing history of repping the brand on the red carpet at events such as the 2019 Met Gala, the 2021 Grammy’s, Coachella 2022, and even sports the Italian fashion brand in his current Love on Tour show. The 25 piece Gucci x Harry Styles capsule collection will be available in stores and online at Gucci.com in October 2022. Prices have yet to be announced to the public. This is a great opportunity for Harry Styles fans and collectors alike to invest in a limited time only collaboration with two of the most stylish icons in the fashion and music industries.
The collection includes flared pants, animal print motifs, sweater vests, pink and green houndstooth, sheep and gavroche caps, and a grumpy teddy bear.
